SUBJECT: February Newsletter - Barley Sheaf PTO

At Barley Sheaf, the PTO is excited to bring community-building activities and support for Barley Sheaf students, families, caregivers, and staff!
Duck Donuts Fundraiser

Valentine's Day is right around the corner! We've partnered with Duck Donuts to offer a 12 pack of Valentine's Day-themed donuts for $23. Orders must be placed by February 9th. Click here to order. Orders will be available for pick up on February 13th between 4:00 and 6:00 pm.

Parents' Night Out: Comedy Show

Thank you to each family who purchased tickets for our first Parents' Night Out: Comedy Show! The event sold out! We are so excited to relax and laugh with you on February 2nd at 6:30 pm. Remember to bring your favorite apps, dinner, and/or desserts! Tables fit 4 or 6 people.

We hope to hold this event next year in a bigger space so we can have more families join!

'Reading is a Dream' Family Event

We are so excited to host the first Reading is a Dream event this year, and it wouldn't be possible without the support of the amazing Barley Sheaf teachers and staff! Teachers and Staff are so excited to read to everyone! Make sure to come dressed cozy in your pajamas!

Reading is a Dream will be on Thursday, February 29th at 6:30 pm. This is a free event, open to all Barley Sheaf families! Advanced sign-up is required to ensure that we do not overcrowd any one classroom. Spaces are limited to 15 students/families per classroom.

Please sign up for TWO classrooms: ONE during the first timeslot (6:45 - 7:15 pm) and ONE during the second timeslot (7:20 - 7:50 pm). You will visit both your selections, switching to the second classroom after about 25-30 minutes.

If you have more than one child in Barley Sheaf who may want to visit different classrooms, that is fine: You can sign them each up for their chosen classrooms, as long as there is one parent/guardian with him/her at all times. Children will not be able to be "dropped off" in classrooms. We appreciate your understanding that parents/guardians must remain with their child(ren) during this event.

We will have snacks available for purchase. Cash only. We will also have Barley Sheaf spirit wear available for purchase (cash or check). Questions? Contact Brianna at BriannaPileggi@gmail.com .

Homeroom Parents/Volunteers: A huge "Thank you!" to each of the Homeroom Parents/Volunteers for planning and hosting such fun Winter Celebrations for all our Barley Bears before Winter Break! We appreciate you!

Holiday Gifts: Before Winter Break, the PTO dropped off gifts to the ladies in the office (Principal Switkes, Vice Principal Bostory, Ms. Campbell, and Ms. Carmon). We are so appreciative for all that they do for our school!

Welcome Back, Staff: "It takes a BIG heart to shape little minds. (And sometimes a lot of caffeine, especially after a long break!) Grab your favorite Starbucks drink on us!" Teachers and Staff were welcomed back to school after Break with Starbucks gift cards. Faculty bathrooms were also restocked with items for the new year.

We couldn't do these special events for Barley Sheaf and special treats for our amazing staff without YOU and your support! So THANK YOU, Barley Sheaf Families!
